Ms. Browne is a Partner of the firm specializing in all aspects of real estate transactional work, including development, acquisitions, dispositions, financing and commercial leasing. Her clients include developers, property investors, diverse businesses, and individuals. Ms. Browne has experience in a wide range of real estate matters, with particular emphasis on public-private partnerships. Her work in this area has involved representation of both private developers and public entities and has included disposition and development agreements, ground leases, and construction and permanent financing and complex reciprocal easement agreements. She has worked on many purchase and sale transactions in different property types, including undeveloped land, apartments, office and mixed use. She also has had an active development practice working in all aspects of development, starting with acquisition, and seeing projects through the phases of construction, financing, leasing, management and ultimate sale. Ms Browne has worked on transit oriented development and represented the developer of the project known as Contra Costa Centre, in negotiating a disposition and development agreement and long term ground leases for the project located on property owned by BART surrounding the Pleasant Hill BART Station. She has also worked extensively in the Yerba Buena Gardens Redevelopment Area in San Francisco and her projects have included the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the Paramount for the Related Companies, and the mixed use project that includes the Four Seasons Hotel for Millennium Partners. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Browne was a shareholder and director at Ellman Burke Hoffman & Johnson, PC. Prior to joining Ellman Burke, Ms. Browne was a partner at Morrison & Foerster in its real estate group. Ms. Browne earned her J.D. at Boalt Hall, University of California at Berkeley and her undergraduate degree (Phi Beta Kappa) from Barnard College. She is admitted to practice law in California and is a member of the Real Estate section of the State Bar of California and a former member and Vice Chair of the Real Property Section Executive Committee. She is a member of Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW). She is a member of the Golden Gate Chapter of Lambda Alpha International, an honorary land economics society, as well a past president, and the current chair of the nominating committee. Ms. Browne has been named one of the Superlawyers in Northern California and has been on the list of Best Lawyers in America for over ten years. Ms. Browne was a member and vice chair of the Board of Trustees for the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy and continues to be engaged with the Conservancy as a Board Associate and a member of the Projects Committee. She is a full member of the Urban Land Institute, a member of the Commercial and Retail Council, and serves on the Executive Committee of the San Francisco Bay Area District Council.
